Build A Bear

Mesha went to a Build A Bear birthday party the other day.  It was our first Build A Bear experience.  It was so cute!  Meet Mesha's new friend, snowflake!

Thanksgiving 2013

Happy Thanksgiving from Mesha!

We had a low key day.  A couple with a little girl Anya's age from our ward came over for a little bit so we weren't so lonely.  Sterling brined his turkey for a week and it turned out great.  I'm glad he is into that kind of thing because I don't want to do it...

The day after Thanksgiving Aunt Hilary and a couple of her friends from the DC area came to see us.  The kids had a blast jumping on them.  Sterling and I always like it when Hilary visits because it means we actually get to go out for a date night!  Thanks Hilary!

I am thankful for my family!

Mad Mesha

When Mesha gets angry she grabs a pencil to vent her feelings.  I found this the other day and it made me laugh.
It says "I don't love you any more so stop hugging me" with a variety of exclamation points.  I guess you have to laugh at this kind of stuff or else life is too sad.  The picture on the back is the best part.

Halloween 2013

We had a lot of fun this year for Halloween.  Griffin wore 3 different costumes at different events.  He was Batman, Darth Vader (I didn't get a picture of this one), and Spiderman.

Mesha was Ariel.  She loved the red hair spray we got.

Anya was a monkey and an alicorn.  What's an alicorn you ask?  A pony with both a unicorn's horn and a Pegasus's wings of course.  Can't believe you didn't know that...

This is Anya singing "Gone to Carolina in My Mind".

 Happy Halloween!

After we got home from trick-or-treating Mesha manned the door to hand out candy.

Hopscotch

Mesha made a word hopscotch for a homework assignment and the little kids help to add to it.  My favorite is Anya's little gallop.

Grandma and Grandpa

My Mom and Dad came to visit.  Needless to say we had a great time.  I don't have very many pictures of the kids with them (seems that's how you can tell you had a good time- you forget to take pictures) but here are some that I do have.
We took my parents up to the mountains.  This is Chimney Rock.
In a little cave.
See!  I did get a picture of my parents.
In the "opera box".
We went to a pumpkin patch.
My little punkins!
It is always hard when family has to go.  But we are sure glad they came.  We love you Grandma and Grandpa!

Where Did September Go?

I lost my blogging mojo.  I'll try to get it back.  It has been a while and as I am looking back I can't believe how fast September went by.  Here are a few things we did in September.

Blowing Rock

We went up into the mountains (northwest toward the Tennessee border) and found this place called blowing rock.  This kids absolutely loved climbing all over the rocks and pretending to be little goats.  I almost had a heart attack a few times when the kids got too close to edges without fences.

Cabarrus County Fair

We joke around about how Charlotte isn't the real south.  It is too diverse and there are too many transplants like us.  But as soon as you leave the county you are in the real south..  We went to the neighboring county fair and had us a real southern experience.
Feeding the animals is always scary fun.  They love it but are always freaked out when an animal actually eats from their hand.
Guess what day it is?

Back To School 2013

Mesha started 1st grade yesterday!  She said she was very "nervecited" (a Pinkie Pie reference if any of you got that!).  Here's to a great year!

Last Summer Hurrah

We had one last summer hurrah last weekend and went out to a lake with some friends in our ward.  The weather was perfect, the water was warm, and the kids swam for hours and hours.  Good friends, good place, good times.  And goodbye summer.  We had a good one, I hate to see it go!
Tug boat Daddy.
Riding "The Serpent"
Excited to ride in the boat.
Just pushed Dad into the lake.
Found the skin of the resident water snake.  Yuck.

Random Things That Make Me Smile

Here are some random pictures that makes me smile.
Cuteness is pigtails.
This seems right up our alley.
Cookie night while Sterling was out of town.
Best part of Mesha's summer: Buying My Little Pony underwear...

Anya Turns 2!

Our little Anya turned 2!  We had a Hello Kitty birthday party and went bowling to celebrate.
She's two!

Anya has been our sweetest baby but now she is making up for lost time and is being a sassy two year old.  It's not totally her fault, she has some great examples of turkeyness...  But we still love her to pieces.  Happy birthday little girl!

Summer Fun

Mesha and Griffin enjoy the splash park.

Anya likes to play with dog poop. (Yes, that's fake.  But Anya didn't know that when she picked it up!)
