Last week (yes, I know I have been a terrible blogger lately...) we got over two feet of snow in one day. Sterling tried to dig himself out and go to work but with no luck. The biggest problem with the storm seemed to be what to do with all that snow. You can't just push two feet's worth over to the side, it makes the roads too narrow. Parking lots that were plowed have huge mountains where they piled their excess. The kids had a lot of fun in it. Sterling took them out and they played on the "mountains".
This was taken in the morning, it snowed for the rest of the day. Sorry, this is the only picture I took, I didn't have any desire to go outside.
Right after all this snow fun we discovered that we ran out of oil. Yes, bone dry. No, you are not recommended to let that happen. We are new at this though and to our credit the gauge on our tank is broken. So the kids and I spent the morning in hats, scarves, and gloves to keep warm (at the coldest the house got down to 58 degrees). We spent a couple extra hours in the cold because letting the oil run completely out apparently screws up the furnace and we had to wait for the guy to come fix it. And since this is turning into a rant I will also say that we had to spend our life savings to fill the dumb thing. Fun times.
To top it all off, it is snowing right now. No, the two feet have not melted yet. Boo to winter. Isn't it time for spring yet? Sorry for the negative post, sometimes you got to vent.
